Payment Policy

Currency
All prices listed are X Factory and payable together with agreed shipping costs, in US$. However, payment in alternative major currencies may be discussed and agreed before commencing production of your order.

Price & Detail Confirmation
The prices and details quoted in your order will be confirmed within 3 to 4 business days of its receipt with an Order Confirmation notice. All labeling, packaging, packing & shipping options, changes and queries will be addressed at that time and must be resolved before production begins.

Although there are minimum requirements on product quantities there is no minimum order value.

Telegraphic (aka Wire) Transfer (TT)
Advance Payment
To commence the order MOTIF must receive 50% of the goods order value in advance by a Telegraphic or Wire Transfer into our company's Standard Chartered Bank account. Bank details will be sent with the Order Confirmation notice and production will commence on receipt of this amount into our account. Lead time quoted will be counted from this date. At present we are not able to accept on-line payment. We will inform you when this changes, but do contact us for any queries. Although there is a minimum order of 10 pcs per item, there is no minimum order value.

Balance Payment
An Invoice will be sent when shipping costs have been finalized and can be added to the remaining 50% of the goods value. The balance of payment must be paid prior to dispatch of your order so that our bank will release the export documentation.

NB: All charges to send the TTs are covered by you our customer, Motif covers all charges to receive and process the TTs.

Letter of Credit (LC)
For orders exceeding US$50,000 (US$ fifty thousand) we request that a Confirmed LC be opened in our name. Bank details will be sent with the Order Confirmation notice and production will commence on receipt of this amount into our account. Lead time quoted will be counted from this date. At present we are not able to accept on-line payment. We will inform you when this changes, but do contact us for any queries. Although there is a minimum order of 10 pcs per item, there is no minimum order value.

Shipping Policy

Freight Shipments
At Motif we work with a very reputable Freight Forwarder and have a good personal relationship with him. We also however work with a number of Freight Forwarding companies nominated by our buyers. Either way, please be assured your shipment is our prime concern and will be delivered, 'ON TIME, IN FULL AND WITHOUT ERROR'. The best shipping option for you will be discussed at the time of your order.

Express Mail Service (EMS) or TNT Courier Service
Can be used for sample orders of 2 – 3 boxes weight max. 20kg (44lbs) per box. Shipment is by air direct to your address with no export/import formalities.

Free On Board (FOB)
Motif will cover all the handling, customs and transport charges to place the order from our store onto the plane or ship. After that all the freight and handling charges required to transport and receive the order are the responsibility of you our customer. At Motif we can suggest an agent at your end that would help you, however you are also free to receive the goods yourself or nominate your own agent.

Carriage & Freight (C&F)
Motif will cover all the handling, customs, transport and freight charges from our store until the order lands at the designated entry port (by air or sea). You may receive the goods yourself or Motif can also cover all the import duties, handling and transport costs to deliver the goods to a specified address through our own or a nominated agent.

The international sea port for Bangladesh is approx. 250 miles SE of Dhaka and requires an additional transportation charge. We do however encourage shipping by sea as for orders over 1cbm in volume it is usually cheaper and is definitely a more eco-friendly option. Based on your order details and our research, we will suggest the most cost effective shipping option for you.

Insurance against loss, damage or theft is the client's responsibility.

Customs Information
Did you know you DO NOT need a special license to import Motif goods into the US? Please contact your local customs office for further information on importing from Bangladesh before finalizing the order as rules and charges vary widely from place to place.

Lead Time
As soon as the initiating terms and conditions are met and all details relating to your order are agreed, production will begin. Our goods are normally dispatched from Bangladesh within 60 - 90 days. This is an approximate time-frame; we will suggest a more accurate schedule based on your order.

Packing
Both air and sea shipments are packed in 7 ply corrugated cardboard boxes. The box dimensions are approx. 60cm x 40cm x 52cm and weight is approx 2.2Kg. The type of packing that MOTIF uses assures that your products will arrive in good condition. If you would like the products packed individually or using special packing materials, we can provide those costs according to your instructions.

We are happy to meet the labeling requirements of your particular markets. Please inform us at the time of ordering of your labeling requirements.
